Logline: Ninabelle is a religious Filipina teenager whose sheltered worldview is shaken by her first day of college. Accidentally recruited for the campus comedy troupe, Nina will discover a world where provoking God is applauded – and she’ll let loose the surprisingly loud and angry voice from inside her.


Mary Bronaugh is a writer-director and producer. Most recently, she worked as a Staff Writer on Disney TVA’s #1 series Big City Greens, which has won/been nominated for 9 Emmys – twice for Outstanding Writing. She has also worked as a Development Writer at Disney Television, Paramount, and Alcon Entertainment. She is currently developing an original series with Alcon Entertainment and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh’s production company Surfing Giant Studios. Her newest feature script Dog Years just received a recommendation from the invitation-only New York Stage and Film Workshop (Hamilton, Hadestown, American Idiot).

She has also written, directed, and produced films with the historic Film Independent and the Oscar-winning Six Point Harness. In 2020, her short film Swearing was sponsored by Film Independent and had its world premiere at the Oscar-qualifying Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival. Before that, she served as the creator, head writer, and director of the half-hour comedy series Ensemble, which premiered on the TV station LA 36.

She has been selected for distinguished programs such as the Disney TVA Writing Program, the NBCUniversal Animation Writers Program, and Diverso’s The Minority Report Fellowship, sponsored by UTA and The Black List. She won Best Family Screenplay in the 2020 Shore Scripts Feature Contest, placement on The Red List’s Top 10 Best Screenplays of 2019, as well as top recognitions by Humanitas, Screencraft, and The Launch. In 2023, LA Performance Practice and the California Arts Council selected her as an Individual Artist Fellow.

With a background in theater, Mary has also written and directed plays, including Harvey by Mary Chase, A Much-Needed Alternative to Youth Prisons (original), The Princess Bride (adaptation), and Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor (adaptation).

She holds a BFA in Writing for Screen and Television from the USC School of Cinematic Arts and produces her original work under her production company Song Paper Pictures.
