RHAPSODY IN BLUE
Logline: In 1923, a poor, southern girl migrates north to Harlem in search of a mysterious, Creole musician. The odyssey catapults her into the world of jazz and into the hands of Miss Queenie, Harlem's most notorious crime boss.
Anndi Jinelle Liggett is a writer-director based in Brooklyn, NY. Growing up in northern Virginia, she spent much of her childhood with her head firmly in the clouds. Books and films were welcome excursions to different worlds, people, and experiences. Anndi aspires to bring that same escapism to others.
She is currently an MFA Candidate for Film & Television Production at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. In addition, she was recently selected as a 2021 BAFTA Scholar, a 2021 fellow for Diverso's Minority Report and was also a paid intern for HBO's Original Programming department. Prior to film school, she gained production experience at NBC's Today Show and Al Roker Entertainment where she served as the Executive Assistant to Al Roker. She also led Community Outreach for Brooklyn-based production company, The Skin Deep, known for it's Emmy award-winning docuseries "The And". Her short film, "Clementine" was nominated for Best Film Script at the 2022 Women's Comedy Film Festival in Atlanta and her fantastical romance short, "Suga" was an official selection at the 2022 Black Women Film Network's Short Film Competition.
